TEACHING METHODS
From your first scale
to your first solo.
Violin can be taught many ways. We match each student to the method that fits their age, learning style, and goals — whether that's Suzuki ear-training for a 5-year-old or audition prep for a high school orchestra hopeful.
Beginner Violin
For students brand new to the instrument. Posture, bow hold, finger placement, and the foundation that prevents bad habits later. Ages 5 and up.
Classical & Orchestral
Traditional sheet music, scales, and repertoire from Bach through Brahms. The path to school orchestra, youth symphony, and beyond.
Suzuki Method
The internationally-known approach that teaches violin by ear before reading. Perfect for young learners and parents who want to participate.
Audition Prep
Sacramento Youth Symphony, school orchestra placement, all-state, and competition prep. Coaching from teachers who've sat in those chairs.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Real technique.
Real musicianship.
Violin is one of the most rewarding instruments to master — and one of the most unforgiving when bad habits set in early. Our teachers prioritize clean fundamentals from the first lesson so every year builds on a solid foundation.
● Bow hold & bowing technique. The right grip, the right arm motion, and the difference between scratchy and beautiful tone.
● Left-hand technique. Finger placement, intonation, vibrato, and the small adjustments that separate good from great.
● Reading music & sight-reading. Standard notation, key signatures, and the skill that lets you pick up new pieces fast.
● Ear training. Hearing whether a note is in tune, recognizing intervals, and developing the musical instincts every great violinist has.
● Performance preparation. Spring Showcase, recitals, school orchestra auditions, and the stage presence that turns a violinist into a performer.
