INSTRUMENTS WE TEACH
One studio.
Every woodwind.
Each woodwind has its own personality, fingerings, and embouchure. Tell us which instrument you want to play and we’ll match you with the teacher who specializes in it.
Flute
The gateway woodwind. No reed to fuss with, beautiful tone, and perfect for school band, orchestra, or solo repertoire from Mozart to modern. Great first woodwind for younger students.
Saxophone
Alto, tenor, baritone, and soprano. The signature voice of jazz and a staple of school marching and concert bands. Strong crossover for guitar or piano players who already read music.
Bassoon
The big sibling of the double reeds. Distinctive tone, in-demand for orchestras and ensembles, and a fast track to leadership chairs because so few students play it.
Clarinet
Versatile across classical, jazz, and concert band. Master the embouchure and you can play in nearly any musical setting — symphony, marching band, jazz combo, or pit orchestra.
Oboe
Demanding but rewarding. Every orchestra needs an oboist, and most schools have shortages — making oboe a strategic instrument for college auditions and scholarships.
Switching Woodwinds
Already play one woodwind and want to add another? Many serious players double on multiple instruments — we’ll help you transfer your foundation efficiently.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Tone, technique,
and musicianship.
Woodwind playing is built on the breath. Every lesson at Tamraloo starts with the fundamentals that make every other skill possible: embouchure, air support, posture, and a clean, characteristic tone.
From there, lessons build to articulation, scales, etudes, and real repertoire — whether you’re prepping for first chair, jury exams, or just want to sound like the player in your head.
INVESTMENT
Private woodwind lessons.
Month-to-month. No long-term contracts. Every new student starts with a free first lesson.

OUR WOODWIND TEAM
Specialists for every instrument.
Tamraloo’s woodwind faculty is led by Peter Chatterjee, an active performer and educator. Each teacher specializes in their primary instrument so students get genuine expertise — not a generalist trying to cover everything.

Peter leads the woodwind program at Tamraloo Studios. An active performer, composer, and educator, Peter brings deep expertise in oboe and broad woodwind musicianship to every lesson. Students benefit from his focus on healthy tone production, solid fundamentals, and real performance preparation. Learn more at peterchatterjeemusic.com.

Kaden Dayog
Principal bassoon with the Placer County Youth Orchestra. Kaden is a multi-instrumentalist who also plays viola and teaches clarinet. His broad orchestral experience — including conducting — gives students a complete picture of how their instrument fits into the larger musical conversation.

Rose is a lifelong musician with a special love for the flute. With years of experience performing in a variety of musical ensembles, she brings both skill and joy to every lesson. She adores helping students discover their sound, build confidence, and find the magic in making music together.

Sam teaches saxophone and trombone with a focus on tone, technique, and the joy of ensemble playing. An active performer himself, Sam brings real-world experience into lessons and helps students develop the kind of musicianship that translates to jazz band, concert band, and beyond.
