MaryEllen Vogt, Ed.D. is a Distinguished Professor Emerita of Education at California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Vogt has been a classroom teacher, reading and special education specialist, district reading resource teacher, and university teacher educator. She received her doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley. A co-author of fifteen books, including the SIOP Series and Reading Specialists and Literacy Coaches in the Real World (2007), Dr. Vogt has provided professional development in all fifty United States, and in nine other countries. She served as President of the International Reading Association in 2004-2005.
L.I.E. and Tutoring Lead Instructor
Leslie graduated from Chico State with a Bachelors in Liberal Studies. Her area of concentration is in special education with a minor in Psychology. She has worked in schools for over twenty-five years. Leslie is currently a certified substitute teacher in the state of California. She also has been a certified guest teacher in the state of Nevada. Leslie has been selected to perform long term teaching assignments in elementary grades Kindergarten through 5th as well as middle school grades 6th through 8th. She has also completed long term teaching assignments as a resource specialist/special education teacher in both elementary and middle school.
Leslie and her family have lived in a variety of locations thanks to the United States Air Force. She is happy to be back home in Lincoln. She enjoys traveling, music and history, which all ties in with her passion for teaching.
